How KDI uses your information

Kihumuro Development Institute Ltd (“KDI”) collects the details you give when you apply, study, pay or sponsor, to run admissions, teaching, fees and certificates. We follow Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

What we keep: your name, phone, email, date of birth, district, education, results and payments. We keep a one-way fingerprint of your ID number to stop duplicate applications, not the number itself. ID scans, if requested, are deleted after checking.

Who sees it: KDI staff who need it, your guardian if you are under 18, and your sponsor (first name, course and progress only unless you agree to more). Payments are handled by Pesapal and PayPal; KDI never sees your card number.

Where it is stored: Microsoft cloud data centres in the European Union.

How long: applications 12 months; student records 7 years; certificate records permanently so they can be verified.

Your rights: you can ask to see, correct or delete your data by emailing privacy@kihumuro.org.
